Max Cybersecurity’s Leadership

Michael A. Echols (Mike), is the CEO of Max Cybersecurity LLC. He launched the company after 10 years at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In 2015, Mr. Echols became the White House point person for the rollout of Presidential Executive Order 13691 – Promoting Private Sector Cyber Information Sharing. Most recently Mr. Echols authored five Forbes articles and was featured on a PBS cybersecurity special. Mr. Echols helped build the international association of certified ISAOs at Kennedy Space Center, helped create the Operational Technology Cybersecurity Maturity Framework, and is working to make autonomous vehicles cyber safe.

Mr. Echols was the Representative to the NATO CCPC in Brussels. He chaired the Communications Sector’s and the International Network Security Information Exchange (NSIE) up until 2014. Additionally, he managed the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC), 30 Chief Executive Officer level NSTAC members representing IT, Defense and Communications companies producing policy recommendation for the President.

Mr. Echols is a graduate of the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative – Harvard Kennedy School of Public Health and the Federal Executive Institute.  He holds a Masters of Business Administration, a Master of Science in Biotechnology, a Graduate Certificate in Technology Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice; all from the University of Maryland.  The University of Maryland University College awarded him the 2018 Distinguished Alumni.
